Kimono

A stunning dress that serves as a two-dimensional objet d’art. I’m very proud of all the detail that went into making this kimono, and you can even see the process on my social media. I think this piece also exemplifies one of my strongest values about making art: it should be beautiful to look at, but it should not be precious. You can see the fine embroidery lines of gold, but you can also tell that they are not perfectly replicated across the dress. All of the lines and strokes are handmade in an effort to create something that shows mastery, not perfection. What could be more human than that?

5 x 7 in, cold press paper. Each print is signed and dated before being individually wrapped in a protective plastic sleeve with a foam board backing.
