Red Bird

A departure from my usual style, this is the only print for sale made entirely with colored pencils. I was inspired by Henri Matisse’s “The Red Studio,” which is an oil painting that grounds its subjects in the intensity of its rich, red background. However, the colored pencils hatch-marks lend a texture to the eye reminiscent of woven fabric.

5 x 7 in, cold press paper. Each print is signed and dated before being individually wrapped in a protective plastic sleeve with a foam board backing.
